I can see that the U/V axis adds a lot of functionality, but it also
seems like the software problems need to be delineated, then
addressed as new ones arise.

The first hurdle is to get the X/Y tool path and reverse path for
full length cutter removal and also a simple pause for spark control.

Since this is for home shops, the bells and whistles will be added as
desire overcomes availability.

The problem of feed rate is based on electrode amps or voltage and
would apply to any number of axes used.

a simple 2 axis would be a welcome addition to any shop, and the
possibility of a 4 axis is not a stretch.

I see that the goals for the project need to be delineated into
attainable ones that will also offer valuable information. The
results of 2 axis wire problems would help refine 4 axis machines.
Going for the gold so to speak puts a basic machine much farther off.

And with some forward planning, the options for adding 4 axis would
be easy to do at conception, even if not used immeadiatly.

As for things like punch press dies, the punch and die often need to
be cut separately as there is often a vertical lip on the die, then a
relief angled out behind that. That could be 2 separate operations
so the problem of bad corners would be moot if the punch and die were
cut separately, and the die were done in two or more operations.
Rough and finish, and vertical and relief.

the real wiz-bang options are auto wire break detection with re-
feeding the wire as one and auto penetration as another. now that is
some high end stuff !
