Thanks for the URL. WOW, 227 pages! A lot of that is for the drawing,
but I managed to spot an example.

Looks like pages 194-202 and 211-214 give an example and answers some
questions.

From what I can see, BobCad wire has you draw two contours (one each in
the XY and UV planes), and then break and connect them, much as you
might do for a 3D skin for a mill. I'm then guessing that two
simultaneous moves are done, one in the XY, and the other in the UV (as
I've observed before), with the two "broken" contours keeping in step
with each other.

I just saw Vector's Wire EDM example (thanks Fred). And this gives me a
pretty good idea of how CAD/CAM would generate a Gcode file (like Fred
posted). After both XY and UV contours are selected, the CAM function
divides them up a little more, and generates XY UV code that will be in
sync (provided you select the contours properly). Interesting!

There is actually very little "special" to do in Vector's CAD side,
mainly just select two contours (probably why I didn't see anything
special to do). The main difference between generating Gcode for 3D
milling and Wire EDM seems to be to pick a 4-axis wire for the CAM
processor type needed. Cool!
