Abby,

Sounds like a typical dual nut preload. Might be worthwhile to take
a visit to an internet seller like Nook ( www.nookind.com )or some
such to see how these "typical" two nut units go together. Try a
search on "preload ballnut". And if you have a solid modeling CAD
program; don't forget that many companies now offer Free 3d cad
models (intended to help you use their stuff in your new design);but
which may prove useful for learning purposes like this as well...
