Rapids are only not an issue when you don't have a CNC at home. When I first got mine I would have been happy with 5 ipm!!
Of course there is a big grey line between what is acceptable and what is "high performance" I personally use 30 ipm on a machine
with a 12" by 18" and it makes really good sense to me cause the drivers were free, and it does what I need it to do. Of course I
would like to go faster and that is why I am experimenting with the Geckos, and am very exited about Tim's experiments.
But let's face it folks, Really fast rapid rates are only important if you are concerned about productivity, or you are just
impatient as hell. In my view it does not make sense for a HOBBYIST to spend big bucks just to get 120ipm feedrates when he was
getting 45 or 60 before.
BUT, if we can get near 100 ipm with Geckos, that's another story. I'm already in that game. I can't wait to prove it out!

Also, you haven't answered my question about why the motor was running so fast in FULL step mode and could'nt do it in 10x
microstep. Was it motor stalling or step rate limited?
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but this shouldn't matter with the G210 it is ALWAYS in microstep, just taking more or less steps
per step signal input.
