I think Ray has hit the nail on the head !

Why did I go with linux/EMC in the end ? I needed the speed of
constant contouring. Sure it's fun watching your mill work,.. but try
running 12 2 hour a piece parts and suddenly it's not much fun if it
takes 4 hours a piece without it. Yes EMC is not turn key to some, but
with the work of Ray and Paul, is to me. The only changes I made was
my screen colors and default jog speed. Any cnc program, whether
windos or dos, has to be setup for your machine. No one cnc program is
going to be "all to all". But with with EMC you can change it to suit
your needs.

Wish I had the 200 bucks I wasted on another cnc program,.. I would
give it to them for continued development. Bugs,... why pay for them?
When's the last time you bought sofware and didn't have to download
upgrades or patches to fix bugs? Free EMC software,.... I don't get
it?

For those who havn't tried Ray's Newer GUI with the back ploter you
get it at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CAD_CAM_EMC/ in the files
section. Or I believe it's in the NIST archives.

Thank's Ray and Paul
