I should also mention that EMC is truly turning in to a solid, reliable,
easy to install machine controller.
All this bug stuff is just our effort to get it the way we want it and take
out any glitches we find. The stuff we are talking about has workarounds
but we are trying for continual improvement.
For me EMC installation went just like this:
1. I stuck a BDI in an old windows machine.
2. I answered some questions on windows that popped up.
3. I plugged in a Servo To Go card and wired it up to my machine.
4. I modified the text file emc.ini some to tell the program about
my machine.
5. I turned it on and it worked.
The only problem I had was homing with STG's new card and
Paul and I fixed this in the special file for the card.
I have had EMC running for a couple months now in an industrial
environment and I have not had one single lockup. Not one.
There will be some bugs or glitches found for sure... but
they are gonna get fixed.
