Hi, Hoyt:
Just an oddball thought - try disconnecting the battery (the one that keeps
the clock time correct when the machine's turned off) from your computer.
Leave it out for about ten minutes and then try to reboot from the floppy.
If everything boots correctly, reformat the hard drive, turn off the
machine, and reinstall the battery. It could be that there's something in
the CMOS memory that is set incorrectly that's causing your problem. If it
is, removing power from the CMOS memory might help you out.

BTW, folks... On the EMC vs whatever other G-Code interpreter. It sounds
much like the Lionel vs American Flyer or the Ford vs Chevy arguments.
There's space on the road or layout board for all of them.
