They take in RS-274D commands (alias G-code) and cause machines to move
in appropriate
ways. EMC can move robots (all rotary joints), cartesian machines
(traditional milling
machines and lathes) and Stewart platforms (hexapods) as well as mixed
systems like
4 and 5-axis machining. Manual movement for setup and quick drilling of
holes, etc.
