Come on! Appears? There are HUNDREDS of people using Art's master5
and Mach1 software successfully! BOTH professionals (using it daily
full-time on commercial and hobby mills,etc.) AND hobbyists...

They're Using Win95,98, 2000, ME, and XP. Most report toolpath
execution speed increses WAY beyond any other software, windows or
not, due to Art's excellent trajectory planner and constant velocity
mode.

Arts software does indeed use parts of the EMC source code. And for
the original poster, the NIST Gcode interpreter is written in a way
to allow it to be used separately from the other EMC code. Use the 6
axis version, and beware that there are some hard-coded bugs...

With over 650 people now members of the Master5 Yahoo group(includes
Mach1, which is the newest version), many of these hard coded bugs
have been caught and killed.

In addition to Master5/mach1, there is Carl Kendrats (Carken, at
Deskam.com) DeskNCRT, which is a DOS port of the EMC code.

P.S. Jerry is co-author of DAK engineerings TurboCNC, which is an
8axis DOS based CNC controller. At only 20 dollars, it gives a whole
lot of bang for the buck. And the source code is included with
registration! Dave Kowalczyk was the original author, and is still
active in its development. They also have a yahoo group called
turboCNC.
