Ray,
I made a program to transmit DRO data from Mauch/Kulaga board to another
machine in real time.

It can be helpful if Linux machine doesn't have ISA slots, then it can be
networked
to a cheap old computer which does DRO readout. Then closed-loop operation
can be facilitated. It runs in DOS.
Also it can address expandability issue, which is always in the back of my
mind.

Going further, this "old" computer or SBC, can have DRO card and at the same
time it can control steppers/servos in a closed loop. Being networked to a
"main" computer running Linux/EMC it can get "macro" commands based
on a postprocessor results.

I wonder if EMC has breakout points for implementing this.

Best regards, Alex
