Re: servo vs stepper

Ron, I grew up in Detroit, went to Cass Tech and U of M! Now am in
Oklahoma City, unfortunately no trips to Detroit planned but it could
happen. I am beginning to wish I had just gone to servos when I had
the chance. Thanks for the rehash...

and Y you need DC brushtype servos rated at about 100 volts and 28
lb/in torque or better. I never even tuned my Gecko 320's I just
hooked them up out of the box and they worked perfectly. I dont have

promising that if you change to servos you wont have any problems but
the only problem I had was the servo leads crosstalking with encoder
cables and was quickly corrected by re-routing them away from each

systems. My motors run all day and hardly get warm. Drives with the
