Call it hobby or commercial or whatever you may wish, but the fact is
Ron Rogers is simply pointing out what is...and what's not...practical
to do on a simple basis without creating a potential bomb. This is
based on what is currently known and accepted as fact by people who
build and use waterjets, and no amount of dreaming is gonna change
that. The major fact among those is that the lower limit of pressure
for cutting steel is in the 30 to 35 thousand psi range, with
abrasive. No amount of conjecture about 10,000 psi hydraulic
cylinders will make them useful for a waterjet when you in fact need a
40,000 psi cylinder. Just building the the tank and a mechanism to
raise and lower the water level in the tank (they cut submerged)would
be a healthy undertaking, and that's probably the simplest part of the
entire machine.
