Right, the 1J is a J-head with 4 belt speed settings. The 2-J is the
same exact head with a vari-speed belt drive. I think there was a
3J head, which is a beefed-up J head between the 2J and the 4J,
with a 3-HP motor. It may have only been available for a short time
before the 4J was introduced on the Ser-II.
