Many, if not most, Series-I MANUAL machines were made with R-8 taper.
Most CNC's, I think had ISO tapers, and of those, the size 30 seems
to be what I've seen. There certainly are some R-8 CNC machines, in
fact the two Bridgeport Ez-Trak mills are both R-8. That is due to the
large amount of R-8 tooling they already had.
