I'd have to repectfully disagree on the comment that " having a moveable
and nodding head on a CNC is pointless.".....Both my cnc mills are fixed
heads while I have a pair of manual machines with ram extension and swing
and head tilt and nod....And for odd jobs particularly working edge of a
plate or end of longer rod (wont fit between the spindle and table) I have
to hang/clamp the piece off the front right or left side of the table - on
the manual mill, and extend ram and swing it over to the side to mill the
workpiece....I surely wish that at least one of my ole cnc mills could do
that type work.....Indeed there are times using manual mill when I am using
every tilt,nod and ram extend and swing movement - odd looking..Handy...Cant
do that same job with either of my cncs.....I will, if the hobbyshop gods
bless me, someday I'll have a Bridgeport , head tilter/nodder ,ram
entending, swinging CNC mill..........I damn sure want one...
