Hmm so your approach is to say a parallel port is useless and mine is
to buy a VERY cheap PC on ebay and use that. And not watch DVDs, who
wants to watch DVDs or surf the net next to a noisy CNC machine
anyway? Besides near your diamond turning machine you won't be able
to breath let alone click the mouse.

there is a great reason to use a parallel port, its there and it
works, honest!

I and MANY others have actually made parts with the parallel port its
not as bad as all that even if it isn't the perfect solution, this is
what engineering is all about, it is not difficult to quote the best
solutions, look in the right books and journals and there you have it,
cutting edge solutions but whatever we use has to have associated
software and be economic and work!

Get in the workshop and makes some parts you theoretical idealist bum!
