The G100 uses the same pricing formula as all our stuff does:

Price = ((Parts$ + labor$) / Yield%) * (Obscene profit multiplier)

Parts are priced at the 1,000-unit level.
Labor is at the going slave-wage market rate.
Yield must be greater than 98% or slaves get beaten.

Obscene profit multiplier: Pays the taxes, keeps the doors open, pays
utilities, equipment upgraded, phone and email support, free
repairs, "one time, stuff happens" drive replacements, new product
development, current product improvements and pays more taxes.

To modernize, we are considering:

1) Have no "contact us" menu except for sales. No support phone
number, street address or email address.

2) Automated phone system with endless and recursive menus. Music on
perpetual hold interspersed with a recording saying how important
your call is to us.

3) A non-English speaking phone support staff. Technical terms are
universal so the language used doesn't matter anyway.

4) A strict new 30-day warrantee which in the fine print says there
are no returns on electronic equipment. If the drive quits one hour
after date code expiration, it's not our problem anymore.

5) Damaged drives returned for service will always be diagnosed as
having been misused. Repairs will always be 150% of original cost.

6) Use off-brand components and single-sided phenolic boards. Use 5A,
60V rated parts for drives rated at 7A, 80V. The semi mfgs always
have a safety margin; why not use it?
