The SLC file contains just a list of co-ordinates for each of the
contours that make up the layer, for the outline you could just use
them directly for G01 moves, to fill it would also very simple if you
just want parallel passes of the extrusion head. If you want
criss-cross then it gets more complicated but there is enough
information there to do it.

Another thing Roger and I talked about was creating a nested dxf of
the profiles that could then be cut out on a CNC and stacked to make
laminated objects, ideal for certain parts. There is quite a bit of
literature on nesting but its quite a bit of work and you can see why
people like to charge for the resulting software.
