Alan, This http://www.boxford.co.uk/boxford/docs/products/rapid.htm
does that with a regular cutting plotter.
You can automated the pealing processes but undercuts and removing
the not need material is pain.
Plus thin wall prototypes would not be a good idea.
I still thinking that the printing processes and plaster powder is
the fast and cheaper way to do it.
My second option would be a selective laser sintering.
