That's one of the great things about CAD. There a various ways to
accomplish the same thing. Solidworks can also take advantage of
parametric modeling. I often make various sizes of a part using
configurations where the dimensions are different.
It is safe to say cad programs are way smarter than I am.<GRIN>
Learning to take advantage of them fully can be quite a challenge. I am
hoping this experiment will lead all of us to more efficient use of our
chosen programs.
I know an engineer that models a cube or rectangle first and then make
all the features by cutting. He says it feels more like working in the shop.
I try to do whatever is most time effective.
