Hi Eric,
I'd go conservative depending on the size of your machine. If you let
a table coast or drop, the servo will generate and pump up the supply
voltage somewhat. I like to give 10-15v as a saftely margin,
otherwise, you could try to make an energy-dump circuit to keep the
supply from pumping up. The drive's mosfets have a Safe Operating Area
(SOAin the datasheets, and as the voltage goes up over 80v many
mosfets will drop-off greatly in the current they will handle.

Check the files sections for eneregy dump circuit. Mariss put a good
one there.
