Certainly sounds promising! Would you be willing to try a controller on a
trim router? What trim router do you have, maybe I can look up the info on
it, and see if the motor is similar.

I found a Dart 125 manual; it says: "The control is designed for DC
Permanent Magnet, Shunt Wound, and some Universal (AC/DC) motors in the
above HP ranges." Unfortunately, the DeWalt says AC only (in its manual, I
think it was), rather then saying AC/DC. Hence my concern.

I've got emails into both DeWalt and Dart, maybe one of them will answer!

The Dart 125 certainly looks like it can be controlled by PWM from a PC or
PIC. Something I want to try... after I get it controlling a motor.

I'm not familiar with "treadmill motors", I assume they're AC/DC "Universal"
(series wound?) motors? You're probably right. How different can they be?


I did find a few trim router motor controllers, Amazon.com is selling the
Grizzly model. I've advised my wife that it would be a suitable present to
receive from one of the kids, or HER!

We'll see.
