Oh wow - thank you all for the help! I see what you mean about the spindle
"moving". And thanks especially Dan, Leslie and Art for the direct replies.
The CNC unit is in a locked building to which we only have about 2 hrs per
day access right now, and there is no internet connection there. Trying to
do tutorials away from the machine is much less productive than I think it
would be if we could see the tut and put hands on immediately.
With your direct replies, I could take a written cc of what I needed to do
and get further up the learning curve. However, I see that we need to not
make changes, rather get our brains around the correct frame of reference.

Just guessing here, but it sounds like your talking about the table
movement being opposite of the arrow keys. That is EXACTLY
correct. The arrow keys are showing direction of the SPINDLE
relative to the a spot on the table. Convention is to think of the
spindle moving and not the table. I know this takes some getting
used to, and many of us have been there done that!
