wow, it looks like I might be the only one actually answering your question.

seems many are intent on not answering and trying to convince you to us something other than what you have.

the rated MAX voltage of the chip in the Xylotex is 35 volts.

if you use a 24VAC xformer and cap's you will wind up with around 34 volts.

if you drop a volt for the diodes, you will still be on the high end. if your incoming power spikes or your have a very hard decel, you run the risk of increasing the voltage.

using a power supply that will output 30 volts or less will run the motors just fine.

as to the comment about not getting at peak power out of a drive, the old idea that you have a 500HP Shelby GT and drive it to work at 45mph would apply. you have far more capacity than you need.
