RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Xylotex Pwr Sup replacement

Well, my initial diagnosis of the power supply might have not been the whole
problem. I plugged in a 19V 4.5A laptop power supply that had an open
circuit voltage of 19.8 ish and the green light on the power supply went
out, and the voltage to the controller was 0. I'm a rank amateur, but I'm
thinking that isn't good. So the 24V 6.5A replacement PS I ordered should
be here by Fri, but I'm thinking I should somehow test the Xylotex drivers
to see if they are any good. Suggestions? Cuz I'd like not to just plug in
that new PS and have it come to an early demise.

And yes, I'll probably just get a set of Geckos - G540's (with one
dissenting vote due to not being able to stop one axis is my current tally)

I'm pretty sure the current steppers are Automation Direct Sure Step, NEMA
23, 276oz-in.

Should I get bigger motors too, or try the new driver on these steppers?

will sell you one for $20! Of course, they have a lot of other (much
more expensive) supplies like

which, for $220, isn't cheap, but 48 Volts at 15A is not trivial.
