Yes, groan! I know! I have a house with hydronic heat and baseboard
radiators. But, the basement heating loop has connecting runs of pipe
buried in the floor slab, with copper pipe. There are a few places the
floor had been broken out to fix leaks already. No huge leaks have
shown up in the buried sections, but every once in a while I get a big
burp of gas in the system, which takes several days to bleed out.
So, I suspect there's a leak somewhere in the slab. I also fixed a bunch
of places where the concrete trollers nicked the pipes rising out of the
slab. Those were fun to fix. This house was built in 1975, so that must
have been before they put that restriction in the code. (Or, maybe,
there is something else below the slab that I don't know about.)

There are a couple nice warm spots where the buried pipe takes a
shortcut across a corner, but I usually don't dare go barefoot in the
shop, for obvious reasons!
