Hi Ian,

There are a couple disadvantages to micro-bore piping. You and I live in
soft water areas, if this system was fitted nearer London the scale build up
in a few weeks would block the system. There is a little longer warm-up
period but that is no great problem except if you have the timer set so the
heating comes on 5 mins before you get home. Because of the longer warm-up
it is a little dearer to run on an older style boiler.

What you suggest with the back-ground heating will not work because of the
thermal efficiency of the plastic pipe. It will need large bore copper to be
effective.
