No need for the vinegar, rain water is pretty good and a DI cartridge will just make it better. If there are no minerals in the
water then nothing is needed to prevent scale.
Conductivity is a good measure of dissolved (ionic) solids and is often used to check the quality of distilled water or DI
(deionized water). RO water is another story as it is usually only about 10 times better than the feed water.
