Hi Jon:
This acrylic is made to be burned out.
It was specially formulated by the dental lab industry for this purpose.
It does not create toxic fumes (it will still be a bit smelly though, but
not quite as bad as wax).
It leaves no residue in the mold. (This is what I was referring to when I
said that it burns out clean)
For the best possible finish on the castings, some lab technicians flow a
thin layer of wax over it, but I can't tell the difference between a waxed
and an unwaxed pattern once it is cast.
