You can find this type unit in the Grainger catalog as replacement parts and
in the surplus catalogs from time to time. These can work fine for what
you want as long as they use a seperate air fan to cool the motor. There was
an article in Fine Woodworking a few years back on housing one of these to
use as a HVLP paint spray source. I built one. For a router table you can
build the table as a box beam of MDF. This will be very stiff if done
reasonably right. The intermediate spacers in the box just need to leave
enough space to allow a relatively even pressure - flow balance across the
box .the Vacuum blower units can be built into the box to make a nice
package.
The units should probably have filters and the box have a clean out
opening to get out the inevitable dust and chip acrural from a router
opperation.
