They are Sargent Welch 8811 Directorr pumps. I think they are pretty
old as the company is now just Welch Vacuum. I tried to find out some
info on the web but did not come up with anything for that particular
model. This may all be a moot point as neither one works right now.
It seems that neither motor runs but turning the pump shaft by hand
I can hear and feel the pump part is working, how well I don't know.
I am going to try a new start capacitor on them and see if that helps.
A friend of mine has a truck load of them as he replaces them daily
in the air conditioning business. The motors don't smell burnt at all
so maybe that's all they need. These are the chances you take when
you buy things surplus I guess, I didn't spend much on them so it's
no great loss if they never work. Some of the things I have gotten
surplus have more than made up for the junk I sometimes bring
home. Jesse, any help on the specs would be appreciated and
since I won't be using them even if I do get them working I will
let Doug know and he can have one for what I paid for it. I'll probably
keep one just to have around.
