I considered offering a kit for these types of mills, I had a Rong-fu and I retrofitted a Jet 8X36. Starting out, I wondered why no kits were available. I soon found out and nixed my plans to produce retrofit kits.

There is very little that is consistent on these regarding dims. As in the JET for example. The Yoke in the saddle, all the holes were drilled by hand. Hand tapped, and then they drilled two 5mm holes on angles and not in reference to anything, and drove roll-pins in them to keep the yoke from moving around. How would one produce a replacement yoke for this that accepts ballscrews? I spent $90 on a yoke from Hiwin thats in a box under the bench. It wouldnt fit anyway I tried it. I machined a bit of it and can't return it. I wound up taking the stock yoke and boring it and removing material to make clearance for the recirculation tubes. I thought about the amount of support involved with selling a kit for something like this...no way..

However, they are retrofittable. But if you are looking for something turn-key, I'd advise finding an old Bridgeport. At least the holes and dims are all consistent.

I'm not familiar at all with the kit from CNCmasters. They may have found a way around inconsistencies, just sharing my experiences with chinese machines.

fu 31? Or is the cncmaster the best and only way to
go? I don't mind ordering a bit here and there, but I
want a completed list of everything needed and where
to get it from.
