I don't know about specifics of the BP hardware. The components must be
matched.
I would forgo the USB and use a Parallel port breakout due to cost
difference. Have you seen anyone review that card?
I would contact Maurice at Gecko for his thoughts. I am sure he has had
his fingers in more than one BP conversion.
If you try to use the original BP steppers, be aware of their age and
performance issues. You may need to upgrade at any time.
I seriously doubt if Nema 23 motors will do the job.
From the original description, I'd thoroughly check out the existing
hardware. It may just work if someone knew how to operate it.
