Re: Bridgeport CNC Mill???

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info. I did as you recommended downloaded the EMC2 ISO and put it on a CD then installed it on a computer.

It definitely looks like it has a lot of bells and whistles that I need to understand. Not having a background in electronics I'm not quite sure how to convert the cable coming out of the parallel port on the computer to the serial port on the back of the existing controller.

I'm assuming this can be done in the machine set up area in the software, or am I even supposed to connect the computers parallel port to the existing controllers serial port, or do I need to buy an interface. I'm quite sure the encoders are working because at one point I was trying to jump something in the servo box and all of a sudden the Z. axis started moving down. Another time the same thing happened with the X. axis.

I really appreciate your help.
