I don't believe his servo amps HAVE step and direction input, they are
almost certainly
analog velocity servo amps, and need a +/- 10 V velocity command signal
to tell the
servo amps which way and how fast to move. Several interfaces are
available, from
Mesa and Pico Systems, for instance.
