Can CNCPro users provide some input?

Hello all,
I'm considering CNCPro as an upgrade from DeskNC for a home brew
project. I will add here that this is not for my personal use alone
and that the end user who is footing the bill has no desire to use an
operating system other than DOS at this time. I would however, like
some input from those that have used this software on its pro's and
con's.
As both the other end user and I are CNC machinists/programmers for
lathes and mills, I'm more familiar with the way comercial machines
work with the various commercialy made controls. These being Fanuc,
Mitsubishi, Hitachi-Seiki, Yasnak, etc. DeskNC has been close to
working the same as these control systems. I am interested in the
simularities and diferences in the CNCPro software compared to the
higher comercial systems.
With all do respect to Carey Culpepper and his problem with cutting a
raduis on a lathe using this software, his problem has sparked a
curiousity on my part and I would especially like to know how this
software handles diameters on a lathe. Are diameters programed from
a full diameter point of view or are they programed from a radial
point of view?
From what I see by the info sheets I printed out from the web, this
software was intended more for mill type operations than lathe.
How about some input from those of you that use it for three axis
mill type work (more in line with the application I'm considering it
for). I would be interested in hearing anything good or bad that you
have found about it.
The software seems to have many more features than DeskNC but does it
function as well as it appears it may?
Thanks,
Donald Brock
