You've hit the nail on the head! It seems a lot of people don't want
to take the time to figure out "someone elses" code... Whether due to
NIH (Not Invented Here), ego, or the truthful reality that it
sometimes is easier, or BETTER to do it "yer own way"! But there is
certainly NO EXCUSE for not at least LOOKING at the algorithms chosen
by Fred, Will, and Tom at EMC!

Second point, I know of at least three people who cannot program in
C, and therefore cannot use the EMC code. Tho again, the program
comments ARE pretty instructive, whether you "speak" C++ or not!

Lastly, I know I stopped talking to NIST when they seemed not to care
that there was no looping, second linear Z (W), etc. Like you, I
THOUGHT the purpose of EMC was technology transfer to the private
sector. And maybe it is, but they just mean a CERTAIN PART of the
public sector <rant off>
