the led looks like a good idea, I will surely implement it soon.
But, if I'm not misunderstanding your words (sorry, English is not
my main language) the main argues relate to overcharging the
circuits.
This never was my case, I broke my G201 without overcharging them,
they didn't run a single step when powering the system.
There have been surges, spikes or false contacts (I believe) which
caused the unit to die.
I think that something happened like disconnecting the motor (or the
G201 if you like) with the whole circuit powered up and running.
I know I'm advised not do do that ! ! ! ! ! but, when a component
fails and its failure leads to that same condition (disconnecting a
phase of the motor for a fraction of a second), then I would like to
see a protection preventing the G201 by dieing.
