All the problems I had appeared to be due to false contacts on motor
leads (two times) or a spike on the motor connection when plugging
the fuse into its socket (the caps were still loaded ... ).
The first time the false contact was caused by a defective fuse
holder.
This third and last time the problem is related to a regularly
plugged (but not locked) connector. I feel these connectors don't
ensure a stable contact if the outer ring isn't fully locked to the
end. And this one didn't want to lock, don't ask me why, like the
thread was obstructed in less than one turn.
I appreciate the suggestion of testing them at lower voltages and
amps, but it wouldn't work in my case.
When you finally switch to the bigger supply, it's again matter of
contacts, wirings and connections. That's where I had my issues.
And my power supply is not a variable one, it only has the requested
voltage. What should I do ? To change the transformer ? and the
voltage regulator ? and what else ?
I'm a product designer and in my job I know an important rule: every
product should be designed with a reasonable fault tolerance. You
can't push a design to its limits and consider that as its working
range. The only complaint that I have now is about the G201 fault
tolerancy, which is not.
All the rest is very nice but I feel they should be a little more
robust.
