Brady, The Gecko doesn't use the "index". I dont know about Rutex. For the Gecko you need 5v, ground, A channel and B channel. They must draw 50 mA or less at 5 volts. The US digital E5S series at $39 each is going to be hard to beat. They draw 25 mA at 5 volts. Otherwise, you'll need an external power supply.
