Brady, I forgot you are grappling with the 5/8" shaft out the back issue. Pull the motors apart and take the armature to a local machine shop or a buddy with a lathe. Have them turn it down to 1/4". Not that big of deal. The shafts would most likely be soft. Mine are allen bradleys and they aren't hardened. Even if they are they could use carbide inserts. Would save a whole lot of headaches. Mounting the encoder is no big issue either, it's not like the balance wheel of a waltham watch. If you can get the wheel mounted and encoder buckled down and aligned, it will work fine. They arent that fussy.
