The only possible issue with this is the "cogging" of the motor. (The best
description of this is to think about how a stepper motor steps - on a servo
you get torque peaks that can make the rotation a bit bumpy)

Typically servos are specially designed to have very small pole spacing so
that you do not get this. With the right gearing is may not be a problem.
Really the only way to find out would be to try it!
