RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] I'm curious

I'm not picking on Gecko specifically, I said; "Gecko Type" only because
that's what I've seen talked about in CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO.

And I couldn't just "Drop one in" because it wouldn't drive at the
resolution I require.
Some said; "there's a reason it's on eBay". I guess they were referring to
obsolete drivers, well the S and Zeta's certainly are not. Even the obsolete
A and M Series drives far outclass the Gecko type drivers that seem
prevalent here (A series only microsteps 25000).

I guess my curiosity really had to do with understanding the thought
processes here.

In any event I suspect that you have not taken a good look at
GeckosDrives web site. They have more than just stepper drives, you
could just as easily drop in one of their step and direction servo
drives. Either way Gecko is not the only game in town with respect to
step and direction drives.

In any event negativity plugs up the forum. Success with these sorts
of home projects requires positive thinking and a williness to try new
things.
