This will depend to some extent on the way the controller works.
Pro equipment knows where each axis should be in relation to
the other axis's at any given point in the move and issues the right
drive information. If for any reason the system detects excessive
positional errors (defined within the machines controller) it will
trip the drives.

Your quite correct on working a machine within it's design parameters.
If you over drive a machine your going to have more to worry about than
a few positional errors.
