Æons ago when the cost of hardware for a "little machine" was a bit more of
a factor, I pondered these considerations. Indeed, my first "stepper-motor
CNC lathe" would jump/skip a step sometimes when another motor in the shop was
switched OFF, but this was rare enough I never felt need to "fix it".
Then the new "square frame" high-torque bipolar steppers came to be, and my
fourth and subsequent CNC machines ("one-off, application-specific" stuff, doncha
know!) work PERFECTLY, with NEVER a step-glitch! Experience is an amazing
instructor!
