The problem is that Mach(x) was written from the ground up as a software
step generating program. Art sent me the source code of his "driver"
section,
and I immediately saw that it would be a HUGE effort to convert it to the
servo model of operation. About every 5 lines of code, it would check
to see if
it was time to issue a step pulse! Also, the driver mechanism he
selected does
not allow you to use floating point arithmetic, which is a bit of a
limitation.
Anyway, I think it would be impossible for someone to do this without
extensive
help from Art, and I don't think he is interested.
