I am running all of my 3 phase equipment from a rotary phase converter. Instant starts , reversing not a problem. I used a static
converter for a while before I got the rotary. Most of the time it would not start my Bridgeport unless I turned on my surface
grinder and left it running. I now have a 5HP rotary phase converter and I am very pleased with it. Almost all of my machinery is 3
phase some with 2 speed motors(Hardinge).
