Gee John, from the tone of your sarcasm, one might think that you
missed that the comparison was to DeskNC for WINDOWS. A soon to be
released product. Rumor has it that it will be about 1/4 the cost of
the next competitive commercial product, and will have more
capabilities in some areas. There are a lot of people that would
rather not use DOS and they are excited by the prospect of a low cost
solution in Windows. I am sure that if a new version of CNCPro was
about to come out in Windows with cuttercomp, 4th axis, 3D arcs that
work correctly, and good lathe support, that it would be the subject
of a similar word fest.

It's kind of like the discussons of the BDI EMC CD distribution, or
EMC itself for that matter. Lots of talk for a long time. Kind of
boring if you work only in Windows or DOS, rather than Linux. Now
it's done (the BDI, not EMC ;-))& everybody is quiet. Except that the
exciting new products floating up to the surface are being enhanced
by the developments done in EMC!
