Re: Moog makes it home

It's a 83-1000 MC. No tape punch, coolant system or chip tray, but
it has the carousel, a box full of tool holders, and the air dryer.
Some of the thumbwheels don't turm on the control console, there's
some fairly heavy rust on the Y ways under the rear chip guard, and
a fair amount of rust at various places on the control cabinet and
the dryer enclosure, but aside from that it appears to be in pretty
good shape.

My plan at this point is to remove the NC controls and hydraulic
actuators, buy ballscrews, mount them for the axis controls, and for
now put hand cranks on them. Then I can make whatever parts I need
for mounting the servos, and start putting together the control
system.

Probably should grease up any machined surfaces and hook up my power
line so I can put a light bulb under the tarp.

Think there would be any market for the old actuators or controls?
(I'll keep the hydraulic unit, perhaps use it to run a press or
something.)
