Thanks Jon, that helps. I got the head casting cut down and milled
the sides flat, that should give me a good place for mounting the
ballscrew and drive. I also cut down the quill yoke and now have a
good sturdy arm to the left of the quill with a flat for mounting
the ball nut, so I'm getting closer. I'll need to match up a servo
and ballscrew, and I'm installing a worm and pinion so I can rotate
the head. These I cannibalized from a gear drive and they will
require some machining, but should prove quite satisfactory in the
end.
